Ramon Ortez
Left his birth place of Puerto Rico to chase his dream of a better life in the United States, the supposed land of opportunity. A "dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for every man" - James Truslow Adams. Unfortunately, since his arrivial our friend Ramon has not been able to find work or find any source of revenue to support himself. He explained that no jobs would hire him, despite the clean, well kept appearance that we observed. Without family, Mr. Ortez's belongings have been reduced to the 2 bags and the bicycle that can be seen directly behind him. We enjoyed our interaction with Ramon, despite his minimal understanding of english. God bless his soul and we hope that he is able to use the money we gave him to find more opportunities.
